    Brett Bourgeois

        New Orleans Board of Trade, ltd.

 

 

        Mr. Bourgeois was appointed Executive Director of The New Orleans Board of Trade, Ltd (NOBOT) in March of 2002.  The NOBOT was founded in 1880, and is one of the oldest active marine exchanges in the United Sates.  As Executive Director, Mr. Bourgeois is responsible for the day to day operations of the NOBOT’s Marine Exchange.  NOBOT tracks all deep draft vessels covering the 230 mile stretch of the Lower Mississippi River from the Gulf of Mexico up to Baton Rouge, La.  The NOBOT also provides answering services to the maritime industry, and is actively involved with economic development for the City of New Orleans.

        Mr. Bourgeois has over 17 years of experience in the New Orleans Maritime Industry.   He began his career as a boarding agent for Fillette Green Shipping Services.  Following his tenure as an agent, he moved to the New Orleans Steamship Association where he was responsible for representing the members’ interests on regulations governing the maritime industry on both the Federal and State level.

         Mr. Bourgeois graduated from the University of New Orleans with a B.S. in Management.  He resides in Metairie, LA with his wife and four children.
